@Adam_F_Sandy The customer service lady from Xfinity that I talked to was pretty helpful…but getting to her was a top-10 frustrating moment of the year. I’m probably going to keep the internet from them but I’m done with cable.

So a degradation of gigabit Xfinity service down to 11Mbps improved by 100Mbps once Xfinity home security cameras were removed. Some unused Wi-Fi extenders being removed helped a little too. But it was the Xfinity cameras that got me usable again. But that doesn’t meet QOS.

@iwillbeurmuse If the modem lasts several years, it's cheaper to buy your own (and they are often better modems than what Comcast or Spectrum provide, though they have improved the last year or two). The downside is when you have any issues, they will ALWAYS try to blame your equipment first.

No joking that @comcast never is mentioned as a love brand in any of my lectures and mainly is joked around for being a hate brand for it's absurd charges, unreliable service and terrible customer interactions. No neighbor of mine recommends it, no student of mine recommends it.

Here is why:-@comcast will give you sneaky low entry prices to lock you in their company. -if anything happens and you need to change service, address or plan or God forbid cancel, you need to pay these crawling "partial charges" that pop up on your bill.

The automated service at @Xfinity @comcast is the most useless ******* thing I have ever used. “We advice you restart your modem and call back if problems continue.” If you call back, it says the same ******* thing without any option to speak to an agent!
