Monday, Dec. 7, 1970 THE SHREVEPORT TIMES RUSTON A. H. Golden 60, died Sunday in the Lincoln General Hospital from burns received when his home caught fire. Mr.

Golden was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a native of Hico was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services will be in the Spears Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, A. H. Golden, and Robert F. Golden, both of Dallas, two daughters, Mrs. 'M.

A. Brunson of Mangham and Mrs. Clarence Freeman Jr. of Ruston; a sister, Mrs. Beulah Pilgreen of Ruston and 12 grandchildren.

DE DEATHS Prominent in a Converse hospital after A. H. Golden long illness. Resident Dies; Rites Today Mrs. Kathryn Ellen Querbes Blanchard, 50, of 8623 West Wilderness Way died Saturday at her home.

She was a Shreveport native and the daughter of the late Andrew Querbes and Maude McDonough Querbes. She graduated from St. Vincent's Academy, attended Newcomb Louisiana College and graduated from State University. She was member of St. John's Church, the Shreveport Catholior League and Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Survivors include a son, Randolph Steven Kornrumph of Shreveport; a daughters, Mrs. Campbell Shreveport; a brother, Andrew Querbes a sister, Mrs. W. G. Gay Jr.

of Shreveport, and three grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m, today at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Willis T.

Bond Funeral services for Willis T. Bond, 55, of 3607 Greenway Place, who died at p.m. Saturday at his home following a lengthy illness, will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Osborn Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev.

Charles Chandler, pastor of the Broadmoor Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. a native of Sumrall, had lived here 19 years. He was vice president of Buckelew's Hardware Co.

Mr. Bond was a member of the Broadmoor Christian Church, Summer Grove Masonic Lodge, Shreveport Consistory, El Karubah Shine and Mid City Kiwanis Club. He had been elected president of the club but resigned due to his illness. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Bill Bond of Shreveport, Jack Bond of Alexandria and Henry Bond of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Rutledge of Shreveport, and three grandchildren, Pallbearers will be Joe Chambless, Vernon Rich, Russell Holley, Bill Oliver, Pat Patterson, Ellis Huffman and John Hunsicker.

O. C. Merrett 0. C. "June" Merrett, 58, of 3417 Dillingham died at 4 p.m.

Saturday at Fairfield Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Merrett was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport. He was self employed as a sales training instructor and was a member of the Broadmoor Methodist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday at Osborn Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery near Doyline. He is survived by one daughter, Melodye Merrett of Winter Park, three foster brothers, J. S.

Hilman and E. B. Hilman, both of Shreveport, and Joe B. Hilman of Doyline; two foster sisters, Mrs. Grace Reeves of Doyline and Mrs.

Sunshine Blake of Greenville, S.C.; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Barnes, Mrs. Mae Franks and Mrs. Edith Adams, all of Shreveport. Pallbearers will be Gordon Hilman, Russell Reeves, Hue Adams, Harold Anderson, R.

E. Blake Jr. and Hilman Smith. Mrs. Irene Hart Mrs.

Irene Page Hart, 85, of 5605 Fairfax died Sunday afternoon at Midway Manor Nursing Home. She was a retired school teacher and had lived in Shreveport 18 years. She was a native of Robeline and a graduate of the Mansfield Female College. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harry J.

Dufour, Mrs. Willie Faye Anderson and Mrs. William C. Sheppard, all of Shreveport, and Mrs. Irene Jones of Memphis, seven grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Blanchard Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Mrs. Sarah Onishea Mrs. Sarah Onishea, 78, of 2625 Mimosa St. died Sunday in a Shreveport hospital following a long illness.

Clint Simmons, 85, of DeRidder, will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. C. S. Miers officiating.

Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery directed by Hixson Funeral Home. The Rev. Mr. Simmons died morning in Beauregard Memorial Baptist Hospital. He life-long member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, was ordained as minister of the church and later served many area churches.

Survivors are his widow; three sons. Willie Simmons, Eldridge Simmons and D. J. Simmons, all of DeRidder two daughters, Mrs. Eulah Williams of Lake Charles and Mrs.

Mavis Shirley of DeRidder; a brother, Ezra Simmons and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie, Welborn, both of DeRidder; grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Louis Monroe Louis Monroe LEESVILLE Funeral services for Louis "Cowboy" Monroe, 78, who died Dec. 3 in Orlando, were held Sunday in Hixson Funeral Chapel here. Burial was in the Prospect Cemetery in Florien.

Mr. Monroe was a retired cattleman. Survivors are three sons, E. H. Monroe of Montgomery, Duane Monroe Monroe and B.

William H. Nessmith LEESVILLE Funeral services for William Hardy Nessmith, 72, will 'be at 10 a.m. Chonday in the Hixson Funeral with the Rev. A Aubrey Boswell, pastor of the East Leesville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Castor Cemetery.

Mr. Nessmith died Saturday in Doctors' Hospital in Alexandria. He was a retried sawmill worker. Survivors include two sons, J. H.

Nessmith of Dallas and Edward Nessmith of Leesville; four daughters, Mrs. H. P. Arthur and Mrs. Glynn Worth Patton, both of Ferriday, Mrs.

Quinton Cavanaugh of Leesville and Mrs. McClure of Wiseville; a brother, Calvin Nessmith of Montgomery, and 15 grandchildren. Delbert E. Jackson LEESVILLE Funeral services for Delbert E. Jackson, formerly of Simpson, will be at 2 p.m.

Monday in Simpson Baptist Church with the Rev. A. Hi. Prewitt, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery directed by Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.

There will be military graveside rites. Mr. Jackson, who served in the U.S. Air Force, died Saturday morning in San Antonio, Tex. Mrs. Gruner was a native of Magnolia, Ark. but spent most of her life in Minden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.

Funeral services for W. A. McFarlin, 88, a retired butcher, were held Sunday. Mr. McFarlin died Saturday in a Tyler rest home after long illness.

Monday in Wyman Roberts Funeral Chapel in San Augustine. Burial will be in the McMahan Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Click died at 7 a.m. Sunday in Splendora from injuries received in a car wreck.

(UPI)Six children died Sunday when a fire swept an apartment during the pre dawn hours in this southern Indiana town. Firemen said much of the one-story frame structure was engulfed in flames when they arrived at 4 a.m.

Three children of Mr. and Mrs. Guy, Knowland and three more the Kenneth Edwards family were trapped inside the burning building. Floyd County Coroner Dr. Daniel Cannon identified the Knowland children as Sharon, 3, Theresa, 2, and Guy Lee, one month.

The Edwards children were identified as John Thomas, 2, and James, months. Fire authorities said the blaze apparently, electrical was cord caused leading by to a heater in the bathroom. Fire Chief Wayne Kron said it was the worst disaster in human terms that he could recall after 27 years with the department. Both fathers were away from the apartment visiting a friend when the fire hit. Linday Knowland and Betty Edwards, the mothers, fled the burning structure, but were unable to aid their trapped children.

Kron said the children suffered smoke inhalation and the bodies were badly charred. Cannon said he was told another woman and child may have fled the house to safety. Although firemen believe faulty extension cord was the cause, an arson team was called in to investigate. The apartment house, which was nearly destroyed, was most heavily damaged toward the rear. Authorities said the building housed one apartment at the back and another in front.
