"Chief" Palmer, 68, of 522 Holyoke Air Force Junior ROTC instructor rat Central High School in Springafield, and a retired Air Force chief sergeant, died on Tuesday home. gfi He started his career with the 19 years ago, and developed the ROTC program at the school and in the community.
Both he and the program received many awards, including ci-tations from the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Palmer named an outstanding JROTC vi. He received the Alexander B. Achievement Award for contributions to the comamunity last year. He also was cited by the Urban League.
He was the parade marshal for the 1987 Springfield Veterans Day parade. Born in Sharon, he lived in Lakeville, before coming here 20 years ago. He was a World War II veteran, and served for more than 30 years in supplies and -management. He was president of the TriCounty Baseball League, and was active in area baseball for the past 3:20 years. He received the chusetts Baseball Coaches Award of Distinction.

She was a former communicant of Thomas Aquinas Church, and recently a communicant of Catherine of Siena Church. She was a member of the Springfield Golden Age Club. Her husband, Camillo Damario, died in 1959. She leaves three sisters, Yvonne Rouleau, with whom she lived, Evelyn Thibeault of Westfield "and Priscilla Arcand of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. A stepson, Thomas Damario, died last year.

Born in Holyoke, she attended Chicopee schools, and moved here many years ago. was a communicant of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Holyoke, and belonged to the Eagles here. Her husband, Daniel died in 1986. She leaves a -son, George of Atlanta, a daughter, Marianne Pappas of Northampton, with whom she lived; a brother, Alfred DeJesus of Bel-Air, three sisters, Minnie DaMato of Enfield, and Lucinda Cadette and Irene LaRose of Northampton; five grandchildren, and a great grandchild.

Weldon, 69, of Merrimac Avenue, a 17-year city police officer, died on Tuesday in Municipal Hospital. He retired from the Police Department many years ago. He was also the owner of the Dory Lounge on St. James Avenue. A lifelong resident of the city, he was a graduate of the former Springfield Trade School, and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Weldon was a Navy veteran of World War II, and belonged to the John Boyle O'Reilly Club. He was a former member of Elks Lodge 61. He leaves his wife, the former Claire T. Doty; two sons, Edward J. and Christopher J.

She was a registered pharmacist, and spent 65 years in religious service. She was a pharmacist for .12 years at St. Luke's Hospital in Pittsfield, spent three years at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester, and served for four years at the Providence Motherhouse. She also worked a year as a part-time pharmacist at Flynn's Drug Store in Pittsfield.
